St Peter's Church supports Tearfund, a Christian international aid and development agency.

Tearfund works globally to end poverty and injustice and to restore dignity and hope in some of the world's poorest communities. Aid is given regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender and is never used to further a particular or religious standpoint.

As well as being present in disaster situations and recovery through its response teams, Tearfund speaks out on behalf of poor people by petitioning governments, campaigning for justice and raising the profile of key poverty issues wherever they can.

When it comes to development, Tearfund works through local churches and church-based partner organisations. Churches bring knowledge about local and individual needs. They also have a continuous presence in the community and they are uniquely placed to help support their local communities.
